Signed, getting to elite missions nowadays is purgatory and once you found a ferry you'll only find out that all districts are empty. It would be nice if these missions saw more play again, theyre worth it...

I completely and fully agree, why are these missions requiring 12 people when only the single guild and the alliance that controls it can get people there =\ It is self-defeating, they should stay open so that we always have enough people.
These missions are really fun, at least make us just do something so we actually earn it and so it is not so much based on things out of our control like getting into the right alliance and such. Perhaps make it accessable for characters who have beaten Factions, because after you beat Factions you really have nothing else to do...
Signed.

One way to do it for PvE players is to put both of these 2 npcs in the "Divine Path". That way, you'll have to beat Shiro whenever you want to enter the areas.
The pros.-
- It still requires some effort to get in, but not too hard/depending on too many factors like ferry/alliance.
- People who want to get into Divine Path for some other reasons (capping the pet, trading amulet, crafting weapon/armor) will be able to do so easily because more party would be formed at the place at all time.
What do you guys think?

It'd be nice if it cost 1gp per member of the controlling alliance. This way if a 4 guild alliance held it, with 50 people per guild, it'd cost 200 gold to get into the deep or Urgoz. It could be much more if the alliance is bigger.
And to the victor goes the spoils. For each person who goes to the deep or urgoz, every member in that alliance gets a gold piece added to their account. If 5000 people visit the Deep in a day, that's a nice chunk of change and a good reward for holding the top spot.

Cacheelma I really like that idea That way Shiro could be a little test run every time we want to get into the elite missions. It'd be perfect and still require some effort and teamwork, like the pre-entrance to DoA.

I may do my best to point out the good things ArenaNet does amongst all the (often overly exaggerated) bad, but really, it's been long enough since we were told that an alternate access route into these missions would be given to us. If a Weekend Event every now and then is that form of access, someone should just come right out and say so, rather than making us wait and drawing out more "ArenaNet breaks promises!" complaints and rants.
If I'm going to PvE, I want to mess with the Elite PvE, not the watered down Charr and Jungle Trolls that fall over when you blow on them...

Not to mention that player has to complete Factions which means that he should be at least little bit competent ...
(anyway, most effective Shiro beating is just matter of taking all hench party - sadly, they work way better than any human team because they actually have and use celestial skills and actually kill replacements if you tell em to do so to recharge those skills.)

The reason we have noobs is nobody does these missions thru the year. Also the experts dont want Factions only people. Unless you have Prophecies you cannot be a BiP necro.

I'm in favor of killing the elitism. Isn't being #1 enough? Why punish people for not being faction farmers?

I do The Deep with friends about once a week, but what the below poster says is right, we'll take new people along with us, but usually friends of friends. And when you got too many people new to it failure becomes a risk. The droprate in these missions is just too bad for risking failure.
Your BiP necro comment must be directed at Urgoz, I doubt that many still actually use a BiP necro in their setup in the Deep now that Light of Deliverence is available, at least we don't.
Spiteful Spirit, Feast of Corruption, Spoils Victor are the 3 necro types we take down with us to The Deep, never Blood is Power.

Not entirely true.
My guild does Elite missions (Deep most of the time) on regular basis. (we are not in the alliance, but most have been in the area's before and we taxi from guild hall).
Most of the time we pick up some people since we cannot fill a team.
When we pick them up, they get specific questions on skills and like, to make sure they understand their role.
The reason is that we don't want to fail because someone screws up.
And over time, you get a gut feeling on who's ok and who might screw up.
Saturday, we ran with 2 warriors that were new, they never reached the finall boss. Also a new monk was in the team. Not sure on an Ele. A guildmember played SS, first time. That puts extra pressure on the team, but we managed to finish within reasonable time.
We really had some doubts when we got to the boss, but the second warrior did a great job (and is now a guildmember).
On the other hand, we got smashed in Urgoz in the area after the bridge with fire flowers with a full guild B/P team, because too many were new (including myself).
That's a pitty, because it took quite a long time to get there.
I think that's why most people want the proven teams/builds.
It takes a long time to finish and they feel it's a waste of time to fail because someone (or more) screw(s) up.
I don't mind, I have fun on the runs and don't really care about the greens.
But others might think different.

I say drop the control of elite missions, but add another "oooh! Ahhh!" spice to the mix. ^^
